About Jazz McPhail
Growing up in an Indian family, my mum gave me natural remedies to help with minor ailments, such as fresh mint tea for nausea, fennel seeds for stomach upset or honey with lemon for sore throats. I learnt to cook using spices and herbs to enhance the flavour of meals and I discovered the power of food and herbs in helping support our bodies during illness and beyond. This created a desire in me to learn more about how our bodies worked and interacted with food and medicines (many of which originated from plants e.g. aspirin, digoxin), which led me to study pharmacy.

In my early thirties, a bereavement triggered anxiety, stress, and hormone imbalances.
I found myself turning to more natural ways of restoring my health and wellbeing, researching nutritional and lifestyle support methods and underwent functional testing to gain clarity on my body's dynamics. This marked a transformative turning point in my overall health journey. By making small adjustments to my diet, incorporating functional foods, introducing some high-quality supplements and engaging in bereavement counselling, I was able to address specific imbalances that were contributing to my health challenges.
Additionally, throughout my career as a pharmacist, I observed a gap in conventional medicine, which focused on treating symptoms in isolation and didn’t always consider root causes of illnesses or disease states. Witnessing individuals' health struggles persist despite various prescribed medications, I realised I wanted a different approach - one that incorporated the significance of nutrition and lifestyle in enhancing health. While medication can be a valuable healthcare intervention, there are numerous opportunities to further support our bodies and enhance our health and well-being through more natural means.

Recognising my need for more in-depth training, I made a pivotal decision to pursue additional education. Subsequently, I successfully obtained a diploma in naturopathic nutrition, qualifying as a nutritional therapist. This transformative experience revolutionised my healthcare approach, laying the foundation for my ‘Nutrition and Lifestyle Pharmacist’ holistic health philosophy.

Through my holistic health approach, I integrate my expertise in clinical pharmacy with personalised nutrition and lifestyle interventions, offering you the best of both worlds.
If you've faced frustration with conventional methods or seek answers beyond medication, this could be the ideal solution for you - a chance to finally thrive.
